چکیده

A practical multiband, hierarchical algorithm for estimating land-surface temperature from NASA's future EOS instruments MODIS and ASTER is developed through comprehensive, accurate, radiative transfer simulations at moderate spectral steps of 1-5 cm -1 for wide ranges of atmospheric and surface conditions. The algorithm will accept empirical or estimated information about the surface emissivity and reflectivity and the atmospheric temperature and water-vapor profiles. Ground-based and aircraft measurements are necessary to validate and improve the algorithm and to establish its quality. Its accuracy depends on the calibration accuracy of thermal infrared data, uncertainties in surface heterogeneity, and temperature. dependent atmospheric absorption coefficients. Better knowledge of land-surface spectral emissivities and more accurate coefficients for atmospheric molecular band absorption and water vapor continuum absorption are needed to develop global land-surface temperature algorithms accurate to 1-2 OK.

Development a split window algorithm to estimate land surface temperature from Sentinel -3 satellite data

Land Surface Temperature (LST) is an important indicator of the study of energy balance models at the earthchr('39')s surface and the interactions between the Earth and the atmosphere on a regional and global scale. To date, different algorithms have been developed in the last few decades to determine the land surface temperature using various satellite images. In this study, a new split window...

Estimation of land surface temperature retrieved from EOS/MODIS in Naqu area over Tibetan Plateau

Using split window algorithms developed by Sobrino, added a suff icient and simple cloud detection process for MODIS L1B data. Then based on land surface classif ication (land, water, snow & ice), retrieved four land surface temperature images for clear sky in Naqu area over Tibetan Plateau in January, April, June and October in 2007, respectively. After that the derived LST was compared with t...

An RM-NN algorithm for retrieving land surface temperature and emissivity from EOS/MODIS data

[1] Three radiative transfer equations are built for MODIS bands 29, 31, and 32, which involve six unknown parameters (average atmospheric temperature, land surface temperature (LST), three band emissivities, and water vapor content). The relationships between geophysical parameters have been analyzed in detail, which indicates that neural network is one of the best methods to resolve these ill...
